Complete Pool Cleaning — Bungalow in Bangsar Park

The Challenge

The homeowner of a double-storey bungalow in Bangsar Park contacted us after returning from a three-month overseas trip. The filtration system had been running but was completely overwhelmed. Our Solution

Next, we performed a targeted acid wash on the waterline tiles and stained plaster areas using a diluted hydrochloric acid solution. This removed the organic staining without damaging the pool finish. After refilling, we administered a triple-dose chlorine shock treatment at 30 ppm and added a high-grade algaecide as a secondary measure.

We also fully serviced the sand filter — backwashing it three times and replacing the top layer of filter sand. The pump basket, skimmer baskets, and all return fittings were cleaned and inspected. After the shock treatment had circulated for six hours, we retested the water and added balancing chemicals to bring pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness within optimal ranges.

The Result

By 5:00 PM the same day, the pool water had already begun to clear significantly. The following morning, the water was crystal clear with a free chlorine reading of 3.0 ppm, pH at 7.4, and total alkalinity at 110 ppm — all within the ideal range for a residential pool in Malaysia's tropical climate.
